The word Doula is Greek and refers to a woman who personally serves another woman.
~
A Doula is a non-medical assistant in prenatal care, childbirth and during the postpartum period.
~
A Doula is a trained companion who supports another individual through a significant health-related experience, such as childbirth, miscarriage, induced abortion or stillbirth, or non-reproductive experiences such as dying. A doula may also provide support to the client's partner, family, and friends. The doula's goal, and role, is to help the client feel safe and comfortable, complementing the role of the healthcare professionals who provide the client's medical care.
We provide emotional, educational and physical support.
Ideally, my client relationships begin a few months before the baby is due. During this time, the goal is to establish a relationship that gives the mother complete freedom to ask questions, express fears and concerns, and take an active role in creating a birth plan. We will discuss the benefits of the use massage, tools such as labor and peanut balls, various educational support and positioning suggestions to help labor progress as comfortable as possible. You will have access to my library of material on labor, birth, breastfeeding and more.
~
I make myself available to my client by phone or email, to answer questions or explain any developments that may arise in your pregnancy.
~
As your Doula, I will remind you to advocate for the you and your baby by verbally encouraging your desires for your birth. My goal as your Doula, is to make sure you have a positive and safe birth experience.
~
Additionally, It is my priority to continue educating myself in the medical aspect of labor and delivery to help you get a better understanding of procedures and complications that may arise in late pregnancy or during delivery.
Doula Support doesn't stop at child birth. If there is ever a time that you need support the most, its after you've brought your baby Earth side.
Your world has suddenly changed and turned upside down.
Take a deep breath in, exhale out, and as you do.....say the word Dooooooooooula. And just like, that I appear. :)

You may be able to submit a copy of your paid invoice to your insurance company to get reimbursed for a portion of your doula fees!!
HSA’s/FSA’s vary by plan and doula care may be covered in full with a simple provision of an invoice, and if needed, a letter signed by the medical provider that doula care was necessary or beneficial during pregnancy, birth and postpartum recovery.
I have a no-refund policy unless I am at fault for breaking the agreements set forth in the contract. This service requires a lot of time and investment, I will perform my duties as described upon execution of a service.
It is important to note, however, that I am NOT in control of or responsible for outcome of your birth. Therefore, should your planned vaginal birth or vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) result in a cesarean, there will be no refund. If COVID-19 restrictions outside of my control prevent me from attending the birth, you have the option of my attendance virtually.
