Love Notes ~ Vol. 2 doula Placenta Encapsulation

 Words cannot describe how grateful and blessed I am to have had Brandie by my side during my pregnancy and labor. She showed me genuine love and was tremendously nurturing from the moment I met her. This was my first child and I highly recommend her to be your doula. The amount of information I learned from her was beyond enlightening. She was there whenever I needed her, day or night. Checking up on me and making sure I was well. She was always full of great information and positive energy. She also never left my side during labor. I honestly don't know what I would have done without her. She not only supported and took care of me but encouraged me when I was discouraged about my birthing plan not going as we had anticipated. She even waited for me to get out of surgery before going home after being with me for over 10 hours! Not only has she been my doula but she became a part of my family! Thank you, Brandie, for your love and support. We love you!  

I had such a pleasant experience with Brandie. She was so encouraging and went above and beyond. She encapsulated my placenta and did it in record time time to make sure I had it before I left the hospital. I highly recommend her a million times over. Placenta Encapsulation

 Pregnancy is a scary, yet beautiful time in life. The overwhelming joy you get while watching your baby grow inside of you is a feeling that is so hard to explain. It is even more special when that baby growing inside of you is your rainbow baby. And for me, my baby is a double rainbow baby. We had lost the first two pregnancies (Oct. 2019 & June 2020) both in the first trimester.  Fast forward to Sept. 2020 and we found out we were pregnant! You can imagine the excitement we had knowing we got another chance at being parents! However, along with the excitement came the anxiety and fear of possibly losing another baby, and that made it hard to stay excited.
Sometime late in the first trimester, beginning of the second, we found out about Births and Beyond and began chatting with Brandie. She was and is wonderful. She helped me tremendously by easing my mind of another possible miscarriage, provided resources on how to get through the losses and shared her personal journey with me. She understood that even though I was so thankful to God for allowing me to become pregnant again, she understood how scared I was about losing my baby again. She provided TONS of support on pregnancy, labor and delivery and ways to labor. She helped me feel more prepared for when and how my baby would make his appearance.
Fast forward to now, my son was born 5/14/2021. He is a chunky, healthy beautiful baby boy and we are over the moon thrilled to be his parents.
He is absolutely perfect in every way to us. :) And being that he is our double rainbow baby, we wanted to do something unique and special to remember the pregnancy journey.
We decided that because the baby's placenta was his life support during the last nine months, we wanted to make a placenta print. Brandie made it so special for us, and made the process of collecting the placenta completely stress free. All we had to do was let the OBGYN at the hospital know that we wanted to keep our placenta and Brandie handled the rest. The prints came out beautiful and made a wonderful addition to his nursery.  
I would definitely recommend Brandie at Births and Beyond for placenta prints and any of her services for that matter! Being my first pregnancy, I was naive and ignorant to all of the different choices, options, and ways that a woman’s labor and delivery could go. Because I’ve always been petrified of needles, I was adamant that I did not want to do any medication for fear of the needles and from the basic knowledge I did have on the lasting effects on baby. I did a little research and found that a doula is a wonderful resource and advocate, so I asked my insurance about them.

Thankfully, they led me to Brandie, and I am beyond grateful for the referral. From the very first communication I felt so comfortable, and confident that she would be the best person to assist me through my pregnancy and help me understand everything. She was so informative, passionate, and it was obvious she has selfless desire to genuinely help people.

She worked with me and put up my nonsense the whole pregnancy, which included gym selfies, jokes about having my baby slide out, to being a hypochondriac about symptoms of what I thought was early labor. She had so much patience and helped me to have patience during the process.

When it was time to have the baby, she made sure she was available to meet us at one hospital, just to be turned away to “labor” at home, to making sure she met us at a different hospital to help me through my back labor. Thankfully, with her assistance, good energy, and all the labor “tricks” she helped me through two hours of back labor before I could get an epidural which I didn’t want. However, Brandie made sure to remind me that sometimes our birth plan is just that, and we need to be open to alternative options. She helped me through my fear of the epidural and letting go of my ego.

Once we were admitted to the hospital, she was an integral part of helping me, my husband, and mom stay calm while I labored. When things stalled for me after receiving Pitocin, Brandie did everything in her power to help me stay calm and try to help me through the back labor. After 13 hrs of non-progress, she took initiative to speak with the nurses about my status so she could help me be informed about what to possibly expect next.

All in all, the level of appreciation, gratitude, and respect that I have for Brandie is bar none and I do not think that I could’ve remained as calm as I did through the whole labor process without her. I went from wanting a 100% natural, vaginal birth to needing a c section due to non-progression from the cord being wrapped around my baby's neck

Our little family is complete now, and we 100% admire Brandie and all of her incessant and consistent support.

I will forever recommend a doula to anyone giving birth! Brandie was an absolute angel, and I am so grateful to have had her with me. It was 3 days until my scheduled induction, and I was desperately looking for a doula. I was sent to a group and had luck finding one! I could not believe I was able to on such short noticed!!! 

At first, I was a little iffy because we hadn’t had time to get to know each other and it felt like I was going to have a random stranger in the room. But that was not the case at all! She was the sweetest and it felt like I had known her for some time. My induction started really late, and I had already felt bad to have to possible call her so early in the morning to meet us. But I didn’t have to, she rushed to my side the moment she got news of my water breaking too early. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better than her. When I couldn’t speak, she spoke for me. 

I didn’t know I would have needed her as much as I did. She was kind, she was gentle, she was understanding, she was encouraging. The comfort and love I felt from her was amazing, when just days before I were an absolute stranger. She rocks and I cannot thank her enough for being by my side.  

 I am so glad I came across Births and Beyond Doula Service. Brandie is an absolute sweetheart, and it was such a pleasure working with her throughout my pregnancy. She truly wants moms and dads to be empowered with knowledge before going through such a life-changing experience of having a baby.

She was more than willing to accommodate to my unique set of circumstances. Despite my delivery not going as planned and having to be induced on the opposite coast of the state, Brandie still provided awesome support and an abundance of resources via the phone throughout the whole process. She was able to answer whatever questions I had regarding a hospital birth and put my mind at ease about the steps involved with induction.

She’s been very diligent in checking up on me since then and promptly had my placenta encapsulated within a day of dropping it off. Overall, I am very satisfied with Births and Beyond Doula Service and am looking forward to working with Brandie again for future births!

Brandie was an absolute treasure and an indispensable part of my son’s birth. She was a huge help and comfort throughout my pregnancy and labor.

I have never had a doula before in my previous 3 births of my other children. After having experienced some birth trauma from my last couple of pregnancies, I knew I needed an advocate in my corner. Brandie was there for me. She’s patient, a great listener, takes note of all of your concerns during pregnancy and is full of empathy.

During my labor and delivery she had my back. If I hadn’t have met with her prior to my labor and delivery, I don’t think I would have been able to find my voice. I spoke and the nurses, midwives and doctors listened. Definitely recommend her services. 

Brandie is the best!! My overall experience was beautiful from start to finish. I thank you for everything, from the late night to early morning calls.

Brandie has been absolutely amazing! This was my first time using a doula for my last pregnancy and I am so glad I found her. 

She has been more than a doula during my pregnancy and for my birth, she has quickly become a friend and part of my family and we all just love her so much. She’s kind, loving, passionate about what she does and always available to answer any questions or concerns you may have any time of the day or night.

I would recommend her a thousand times to anyone who is interested in doula services. Bonus she takes Medicaid for any mamas who are wondering!!
